The Beginning
Harry's musical life began really early. When he was just a child, he started recording covers in a karaoke machine that his grandfather gave to him. Years later, when he was in school, he was the lead singer in a band called “White Eskimo” which would win a battle of the bands.
In 2010 Harry auditioned as a solo contestant in the X Factor, singing “Isn't She Lovely”. He got through two phases of the competition, and when he lost, the judges weren’t ready to let him go. That's why he got put together in a group with four other contestants to continue in the show; Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik. The ensemble was mentored by Simon Cowell and adopted the (suggested by Harry) name of One Direction. The band did really well on the show, and ended up in third place.

One Direction
Even if they did't win, One Direction gained a lot of recognition and fans in the time they were part of the show. Because of that, in 2011 they got to sign a contract with Simon Cowell's label, Syco Records.
The band lasted five years, releasing five albums, seventeen singles (three of them, "Perfect", "Night Changes", and "Story of My Life", co-writed by Harry) and doing four tours. They broke records and became very famous and acclaimed across the world, but eventually split in 2015.
Harry had a big growing when he was in the band, and always remembers those times as very happy.

The Self-Titled Album
In 2016 Styles left One Direction's management, Modest!, to start working with Jeffrey Azzof. He launched his own label, Erskine Records, and signed with Columbia as a solo artist.
Harry started working on his first album in a trip to Jamaica in 2016, and released the first single, “Sign of the Times” in April 2017.
“Harry Styles”, his debut album, came out in May 12, 2017. It has 10 songs, of which three are singles; the already mentioned Sign Of The Times, Two Ghosts and Kiwi. The album received generally very good reviews and Variety described it as a "classic cocktail of psychedelia, Britpop, and balladry".
Harry went on the “Live On Tour” and made a film, “Harry Styles: Behind the Album”, which documented the writing and recording process of the debut album.
“Anna” and “Medicine” were written for this album but didn’t get to the studio version. We only have live performances of Harry singing them.

Fine Line
”Lights Up”, the first single of the second album, was released in October 2019. Adore You followed, and then the whole album was out on December 13 of the same year. It was recorded at the Shangri-La studio in California and incorporated elements of funk and soul to Harry’s music.
Since then, another three singles came out; Falling, Watermelon Sugar and Golden. Plus, he released Treat People With Kindness’ mv, even though it is not registered as a single.
The Love On Tour, a tour to support Fine Line, was set to take place throughout 2020, but got posponed until 2021 due to COVID-19.

Incluso si no ganaron, One Direction consiguió mucho reconocimiento y fans en el tiempo en que fueron parte del programa. Por eso, en 2011 lograron firmar un contrato con el sello de Simon Cowell, Syco Records.
